We were called out to cover this eviction of an Irish traveller community for human rights purposes. We were not expecting what was about to happen-they were'nt expecting the cameras. Things are changing for travellers- last year the 106 Circular was introduced by the EEC through Strasbourg. This Circular recognises Roma, Irish Travellers and New Age Travellers as Ethnic minorities. Giving the nomadic Gypsy communities Rights for the first time. This is a recommended document of needs. It still has to be implemented into the British law- still watch your backs!! www.travellerstimes.org.uk robert barton trust www.gypsy-traveller.orgThanx Cliff Codona and Gratton for bringing us together.Cameras- Paul Dread Minty Fil. Bob Marley - Smokin' PotBob Marley (February 6, 1945 -- May 11, 1981), born Robert Nesta Marley, was a Jamaican singer-songwriter, guitarist, and activist. He was the most widely known writer and performer of reggae, and more specificaly roots reggae. He is famous for popularising the genre outside of Jamaica and the Caribbean. Much of his music dealt with the struggles of the impoverished and/or powerless. Bob Marley was a member of this Rastafari movement, whose culture was a key element in the development of reggae. Bob Marley became the leading proponent of the Rastafari, taking their music out of socially deprived areas of Jamaica and onto the international music scene. Now considered a "rasta" legend, Marley's adoption of the characteristic Rastafarian dreadlocks and famous use of marijuana as a sacred sacrament in the late sixties were an integral part of his persona. He is said to have entered every performance proclaiming the divinity of Jah Rastafari.
